3rd annual After School BRAWL
Helena Township Public Library is proud to announce the 3rd annual After School BRAWL, four weeks of
tournament play beginning Thursday, June 10, 2010 and running every Thursday night until July 1. Check-in is at 5:45 pm, and play happens from 6 to 9 pm. Log in to register at:

The first week features Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Rock Band II will be played the second week; we’ve even downloaded some new songs. The last two weeks’ choice of games will be up to the first weeks’ participants.
Score will be kept for each competitor from week to week. First, second, and third place prizes will be
awarded each week, with grand prizes worth $50, $30, and $20 awarded to the series top three winners on June 24. For the majority of our tournaments, scores of 100 for first place, 60 for second, 30 for third, and 10 for fourth will be awarded. Scoring will be recorded using Ann Arbor District Library’s charting system and posted to our webpage,
htpl.gtsystem.org.
The webpage also acts as a message board for comments and polls. All the information pertaining to our tournaments will be posted there and on aldenlib.info/GT.html. Follow us on our Facebook page, Helena Township Public Library.
Like last year, we have three Wiis, each hooked up to a projector. One station will be used to hold the
tournament, and the other two will be there for open play with such games as Rock Band 2, Mario Kart, Guitar Hero III, Mario Party 8, DDR Hottest Party and Disney games, Wii Sports and Rayman Raving Rabbids.

HTPL has now purchased its own Nintendo Wii entertainment system and will be continuing our tournaments with the After School BRAWL series, to begin in May. We will now be using GTsystem.org to keep track of gaming scores and teams. This system also has functionality for clan record-keeping and even league record-keeping. This site also networks with other libraries and allows for competition between them.
To assure a place in the tournament, follow the link below create a login for htpl.gtsystem.org. You will need an e-mail account to activate your membership. After your account is active browse to recent posts and find the tournament you would like to participate in and click on the red link, "register" to secure a spot. You will need to confirm your registration on the day of the event.

Note that we do have wireless internet access at the library and 4 PC's available for use during the GT, but if you are under 18 you will need a signed parental permission slip.
